What a personal injury doctor does — and does not do
Patients whose injuries arise from an auto accident often have a legal matter running alongside their medical care. A physician's responsibility in that situation is unchanged: evaluate the patient, recommend treatment based on medical need, and document findings and care honestly.
We do not provide legal advice, and we do not make representations about insurance coverage, settlements or legal outcomes. Clinical recommendations are never based on the existence of a claim.
Documentation and coordination we provide
- Detailed clinical documentation of evaluation findings
- Ongoing treatment records across the course of care
- Diagnostic imaging coordination when indicated
- Written treatment plans and follow-up documentation
- Communication with authorized attorneys when the patient has provided authorization
- A defined process for medical records requests
- Attorney Personal Injury Lien forms where applicable
Working with your attorney
If you are represented, let our intake team know at scheduling so records requests and authorizations can be handled efficiently. If you are not represented, that does not affect your care in any way — we treat patients regardless of whether a legal matter exists.
Patients always choose their own healthcare provider. An attorney may suggest options, but the decision is yours.
Getting started
Call (770) 702-7500 or submit an appointment request. Attorneys and case managers can submit a referral through our For Attorneys page.
If this is an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Severe headache, loss of consciousness, chest pain, difficulty breathing, confusion, weakness or uncontrolled bleeding require immediate emergency care.
